Use the supplied care instructions
Care depends on the actual fabric, finish, lining and construction. Read the product's supplied care label before washing, drying, ironing or using a steamer. A generic curtain illustration is not evidence of machine washability or a safe temperature.
Routine attention
Keep the surrounding window area clean. Handle fabric gently and avoid pulling it across rough edges or hardware. If cleaning is permitted, use the method on the care label and test only where the instructions allow. Do not improvise bleach, heat or strong treatments on an unknown fabric.
Hang safely
Use supports and fixings suitable for the mounting surface, hardware and actual curtain weight. Follow the hardware instructions and get qualified installation assistance where needed. Do not use loose fittings or place fabric over heaters, candles or moving parts.
Children and pets
Keep cords, tiebacks, loose fabric and small removable components out of reach. Avoid configurations that form a reachable loop. Curtains are not toys, barriers, fall protection or load-bearing supports.
Storage
Store a clean, fully dry curtain according to its care instructions in a dry location. Avoid sharp folds or pressure if the label recommends otherwise. Keep packaging and small accessories away from children.
